About the event

Please join us for the Opening of our next featured local artists in the Cristos Coffee Community Artist series!

Start your Saturday with some chill beats, hot drinks, and cool art.

Live DJ from 8:30am - 10am!

1. One original piece will be auctioned off starting June 1. The auction will conclude on August 31 and the proceeds will benefit the Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary . There will, of course, also be art available for sale on opening night as well as throughout the 3 month show.

2. We will have a new specialty coffee bean blend available starting June 1st (and while supplies last). This limited time blend will feature artwork from our featured artist and a portion of the proceeds from each bag sold will go back to the artist.

We are so excited to welcome "Patrick Parnell" to the shop! We are so excited to share Patricks's fun photography and hand poured acrylic paintings.

A little about the artist…

Patrick Parnell is a local artist and photographer, who, over the past 20 years has had one foot in the corporate signage / graphics world, and the other foot in the independent art world. His professional career requires great precision and conformity, where his artwork provides the outlet to think “outside the box” and to work without rules.

Since moving to Erie, CO from San Francisco, CA, Patrick has involved himself with the local arts community, participating in shows in Denver, Boulder, Longmont, and now Erie. He quickly became a member of the Left Hand Artist Group in Longmont and is also a member of the Erie Creative Collective here in town.

This collection of work at Cristos shows a cross-section of Patrick’s work:

His poured acrylic paintings are an exercise in experimentation of medium and have a built-in lack of control of the outcome--quite the opposite of his daily work.

His photography brings new light to common objects: a firework flash, patterns of afternoon light, or a ghost town frozen in time.
